yams and marshmallows.

sometimes, all you need is something other than love, which is most assuredly given out of love, but it is all the more valuable: time.

I've spent my time well with my friends these last few days. It's part relief and part reassurance I feel. I know the people in my life are there because I like them and they like me.

word of the day: guillotine

My American learnings have taught me that sweet potatoes and marshmallows are a traditional TurkeyDay dish.

NB: Yams are actually different from sweet potatoes, despite Americans conflating the two terms. This only amuses me because it was a well known customs broker "in joke" and would occasionally cause problems on shipments of produce. Oh, the hilarity... almost. :)

I just like the sound of yams paired with marshmallows better than sweet potatoes.

mai oui, je suis americaine.

along those same lines, I was shocked to read what we know as pumpkin pie is usually butter nut squash or some other such non pumpkin item.

yeah. almost.

hope you enjoy the day off at least!
